Maya A. Jones, President & CEO

In 2001, Maya joined M-Cubed Information Systems, Inc. as an ambitious 13-year-old working part-time as an administrative assistant with the intention of helping support her father, co-founder and president of M-Cubed, and his initial vision of leading a team to support complex business challenges. Although Maya was very passionate about becoming an effective and valuable resource at M-Cubed, she aspired to become a classical musician and focused the majority of her energies practicing and performing. She studied the violin from second grade up until high school, where she switched her interest to the up-right double bass which then became her forte instrument.

While Maya trained as a music education and performance major at the Shenandoah Conservatory and studied music and the Spanish language abroad at St. Louis University in Madrid, Spain, she continued working at M-Cubed. In 2008, her career took a ten-fold leap in responsibility when she was sought out by the M-Cubed president to become a proposal manager and business development specialist. She has developed expertise in federal IT proposal development, IT conference management, partner relations management and is knowledgeable in Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) process management and implementation.

While working for a small IT Company and growing up in a technology savvy household, Maya has developed a deep interest in entrepreneurship. In 2012, she enrolled at Excelsior College where she completed numerous business, entrepreneurial marketing and entrepreneurship centered courses which provided her with ample information on how to successfully run a business in hopes to someday follow her parent’s example. Maya graduated from Excelsior College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Liberal Arts with an emphasis on business and entrepreneurship in 2013.

Just like her parents, Maya has developed a deep interest in entrepreneurship and is currently doing her best to follow their example. Recognizing the tremendous opportunities that are available to woman and minority entrepreneurs within the federal marketplace, Maya jumped at the chance to apply her IT proposal development, conference management, partner relations management, and CMMI skills to the business world by establishing MAJ Solutions, LLC. On August 08, 2011, at age 23, Maya founded MAJ Solutions and became the majority owner and managing partner. Maya is planning on obtaining an 8(a) certification and is looking forward to partnering with her father’s company.
